Virtual Edgar Allan Poe: Tell-Tale Heart & The House of Usher Interactive

I love a good story.  My RL doesn't really include a lot of good stories that involve heartbreak and gothic tapestries, so SL provides the virtual scenery for a good story.  A few too many degrees in literature are an asset, as well, and allows me to imagine stories written by others in the landscapes we can build in SL.

Literature Alive! was my SL passion for years starting back in the days of Philip Linden.  Along with educators all around the world, we used SL as an imaginative method to bring college disciplines to life.  Unlike video games (which I also use), WE, the users, could manipulate the environment, and, even better?  Out students could, too.

Literature Alive!, a team of three people (Eloise Pasteur, Daliah Carter, and me), built 74 literary simulations in SL during its hey day.  I've built 3 additional ones since they've left.  Every year, I put out an Edgar Allan Poe exhibit around Halloween.  The scripting is ancient and circa 2007, so this year was a transition year.  One of my tenants is a great builder and a former tenant, a wee little dragon named Chippy (who has sadly left SL), is the most brilliant landscaper I'd evert met.  His work is the gorgeous landscape found on my free to use Role Play Medieval Scotland sim.  If you have a Unity Maxim Meter, feel free to go and play.  

Literature Alive's Edgar Allan Poe Interactive Experience & RP Medieval Scotland

One of the things that has been hardest for me as a designer is creating interactive scenes with poses.  I am not a pose maker.  I rely on designers like Something New to create what I need, and hope that I can find something to fit the scene.  I was SOOOO, sooooooo, excited to see the release of Just Take My Heart by Something New. It's a great pose, and it comes with the little heart. It can be used by all avatars. I will be using this pose in the NEW and improved Edgar Alan Poe House of Usher Interactive project as a tie-in to Tell-Tale Heart.  You can get this fabulous pose set for super sexy 69L at Cheeky 69.

The project is half done, but you are welcome to explore what is currently there....a maze and the most brutal gauntlet that even I can't get through.  It sends you back to the start.  Soooo frustrating!  I've taken the old House of Usher down for now, and will be replacing it with newer quests.  Are you a scripter?  Want to help out? SL is more than dance clubs and shopping.  It has the power to bring literature alive.
