Standing for Ukraine
This is a fashion post. Ok, it's also a solidarity post. It's BOTH a fashion post and a post for Peace, and I am so grateful Brillancia had the threads I needed to be flexible.
In the Eastern US, where I live, right now each day is all four seasons. Today, for example, it was winter (with snow), Spring (with sunshine), Autumn (with wind and rain), and Summer (for just 30 seconds of sunshine) before returning to Winter and snow.
As I return to Second Life after an epic St. Patrick's season of bagpiping, I wanted some time to do simple things in pretty clothes. But, I also wanted to be able to switch it up on a moment's notice if any of my friends came calling. The new Inna Dress by Brillancia offered at the Tres Chic event is perfect!!! The fatpack has this awesome HUD where you can swap the colors of the top and skirt, so you can change vibes on a moment's notice. Like the seasons that change by the hour, I wanted something that could switch up on a dime.
I love the flexibility of Inna. She really came through for me today. I was cleaning up my prop area and spending time with Dante, my horse, but THEN got called over to a Ukraine musical event called "Songs of Hope and Healing" at the Music Road Trip dedicated space called "Stand for Ukraine" offered by Jenaia Morane. Quickly, I pulled out the Brillancia HUDS, and ta-da, I was ready for dancing.
The event held three hours of music, but I was just in time to catch my favorite koala, Raspbury Rearwin. He's a really great guy and an amazing musician. He has a great voice, and I've not yet convinced him to read me bedtime stories, but he does reimagine popular songs in a way that is entirely unique to him. One of favorites that I actually never liked when it was popular is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. I didn't like it when it came out because the radio stations out East played it too much, and I didn't really understand it. But, when Ras sang it in Second Life, his version of it was incredibly powerful, and now, every time he plays it, it brings me to tears.

In just a few seconds, I was dressed and ready for the space I was in and the event I was attending. Jenaia's "Stand for Ukraine Space" is much more than a music venue. You can visit any time, and click on the easel near the stage to get more information about the space.
For example, each sunflower around the dance circle has a poem embedded inside by a Ukranian poet. Just click and read. If you are a poet, you can write your OWN poetry and submit it to be included among the sunflowers. Can't get inworld to read the poems? No worries, you can read selections on the Pass Along Songs blog.
Finally, you can visit the Sunflower Meditation Circle (to the right of the path as you walk in) to sit and send love to Ukraine. Truly, this space is meant for healing, and whether you were able to listen to the performers or not, you can still take moments to think about our friends on the other side of the world.
So, if you need a dress that is flexible, stylish AND fun, run over to Brillancia's space at the Tres Chic event and pick it up!!!
